The UK Government should really be held up accountable for the disgraceful way the NHS has been underfunded and badly organised over the last 10 years of Conservative rule, but this problem has become even worse recently. Patients are now waiting almost twice as long for a paramedic as they were at the height of the pandemic, ambulance services are hugely under strain of record demand with dwindling resources.
Response times for all types of emergency – including life-threatening – are at their highest on record with patients dying before paramedics can reach them.
