Within Minutes of Body Being Found Tony Blair Blocked Coroner’s Inquest Into Death of Dr David Kelly
A new book investigating the death of Dr David Kelly – the Iraq weapons inspector who let slip that Tony Blair’s claim in the lead-up to the Iraq war that Saddam Hussein could deploy weapons of mass destruction in just 45 minutes was at best ‘dubious’, and that Blair’s ‘dodgy dossier’ had been ‘sexed up’ – has claimed that the former Prime Minister Blair blocked a coroner’s inquest into Mr Kelly’s death ‘within minutes’ of his body being found… See Evolve Politics to read the full report.

An inquest has further being blocked by the current Tory government since 2011 with the new attorney general ruling out new David Kelly inquest. Dominic Grieve made statements to MPs saying evidence that David Kelly took his own life is “overwhelmingly strong”. In a statement to MPs Grieve called for a line to be drawn under the matter as he criticised the “imaginative speculation” of those who have suggested in the eight years since Kelly’s death that he was murdered.
About David Kelly
Dr David Kelly, the government chemical weapons expert who supposedly killed himself in 2003 after being outed as the source of a BBC story.
Kelly’s body was found on 18 July 2003, a day after he had gone for a walk near his home. He had been exposed as the source of the report alleging that the government’s dossier on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, presented as central to the case for war, had been “sexed up”.
The Hutton inquiry found he had killed himself, though without an inquest into his death many think that there were suspicious circumstances to his death.

Incidentally if this is a blame game, I blame Campbell for 179 British service personnel losing their lives in the Iraq War, countless Iraqi civilian casualties. The death of Dr David Kelly anda string of spin and lies that led to this country being demonised for imperialism,
