To be fair, I can understand the craving for a death penalty in cases where we feel guilt is well known or where the actual crime is so horiffic, there are some Very good reasons why I will not support an actual death penalty though ..
Guilt is very hard to prove to a level of 100% in 100% of cases, the possibility even 1% or a few innocent people could be killed because of wrongly given evidence. with actual accounts of historic court cases where accused have been setup for a crime they did not commit ?
I just dont 100% trust the police or the law. It is very important to haev an open mind and on face value we all accept that Law must be a difficult job so this is not a critic of all Officers, but I do remember from a moment I was attacked as a teenager in a very violent attack and 2 younger Police officers came to interview me the next day (while I had concussion) and I could not identify the suspects and was very confused about the attack .. the Police actually blamed me in part for the attack and in effect also stood against me in court when I had applied for victim support.
There are sometimes bad police officers who have their own opinions on things and will get it wrong .. these things kind of matter when it comes down to life and death cases.
But this article portrays something I didnt expect to see, someone actually haunted by the people he has killed with a Death Penalty
