Muslim Nationals In The UK Declared Foreigners
UK Parliament House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom states quite clearly here Islamophobia is an issue specific to the Foreign Office, suggesting she thinks Muslim nationals in the UK are foreigners.
The senior minister sparked a new Tory Islamophobia row by suggesting that a debate about the issue was not relevant to her. Seeming very uninterested in the subject it came across as very shallow and heartless way to ease the concerns of people of all faith up and down the UK that they will be judged on their choice of religion.
The Labour party MP Naz Shah asked about having a debate on a definition of Islamophobia in Parliament. It prompted Tory Muslim peer Baroness Warsi to say: ‘British Muslims are certainly British. What is wrong with some of my colleagues?
Andrea Leadsom MP
Andrea Leadsom has come under scrutiny before for comments questioning Climate Change as to whether it actually exists? A keen follower of the #MeTo movement she has also spoken out in support of women everywhere; but judging by recent comments just as long as your not a Muslim women?
On a Tweet taken from the day Ms Leadsom seemed to be having a nice day shopping, though some comments asked her if she could buy a book about #Islamophobia to try to understand that it affects many people in the UK.
Never need an excuse to buy a new book, but sheltering from the rain in @Waterstones in Oxford is as good as any! Give the gift of reading this World Book Day 😎📚 pic.twitter.com/FRsNoyEBNh

14 Conservative Party Members Suspended
The question from the MP came at the end of a week in which it emerged 14 Conservative Party members were suspended after posting Islamophobic or racist comments on social media. The remarks were found in a Conservative supporters Facebook group, including calls for Muslims to be ‘turfed out of public office’, for the Government to ‘get rid of all mosques’ and calling Muslim Home Secretary Sajid Javid a ‘Trojan horse’.
Theresa May Seems Unconcerned
Theresa May was accused of ‘burying her head in the sand’ over ‘institutional Islamophobia’ in the party by Baroness Warsi, the former Tory chairman. In Thursday’s exchange Ms Shah tried to take advantage of this, asking Mrs Leadsom: ‘Given the crisis the (Tory) party finds itself in with Islamophobia, would she agree with me that it is right that we should have a debate in the house on Islamophobia?’
